Should Marijuana Use Ruin Someone's Life?
Getting arrested for marijuana possession doesn't just mean the risk of jail time. In Massachusetts, the 7,500 people who are arrested for marijuana possession every year also face a host of other serious penalties that are designed to prevent them from leading normal and productive lives:
All for simple marijuana possession.
But on November 4, Massachusetts voters will vote on a landmark initiative that would end these arrests and barrage of penalties, replacing them with a simple ticket and $100 fine, which could be paid through the mail without lawyers or court appearances, just like a speeding ticket.

This is the first time in history that an initiative to decriminalize marijuana possession will appear on any statewide ballot.
