The Department of Foreign Affairs
The new department combines the old Department of Defense and the Department of State. The mission and purpose of the combined department is to minimize and strategically focus United States Government activity and involvement outside of our borders. The goal is to eliminate all permanent military bases and presence outside the United States, to utilize a small and efficient diplomatic corps to maintain necessary relationships and communications with all sovereign states, and to direct an attitude toward and relationship with the world as a whole that attempts to foster peace, free international trade, and free flow of travel and commerce across borders. A small but powerful and efficient military will be maintained at domestic bases, designed to protect national sovereignty, individual liberty, using force as a last resort. The rationale is that if the United States is no longer interfering in foreign matters, the risk of foreign aggression by states or non-state organizations or entities is much smaller. The Secretary of Foreign Affairs is the civilian head of the Military as well as the head of diplomatic services.
The Department of Liberty and Justice
The formerly named "Justice" Department continues under this new name. The purpose of adding Liberty to the name is to remind its members as well as the general public that there is no justice without liberty and that the purview of the Department is to protect liberty and guarantee justice to all, rather than a more police oriented, law enforcement oriented emphasis on Justice that is currently associated with the Department of Justice. As with all government offices, departments, programs, and agencies remaining in the Next Deal, the former Justice Department is dramatically reduced in size. It's remaining mission is to promote and protect liberty, with "investigation and prosecution" of Federal "crime" being greatly diminished and narrowly focused.
The Department of Economics and Markets
This very small department is responsible for promoting and protecting free trade and economic liberty, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. It's primary function is to facilitate the free flow of commerce across state lines and international boundaries. It also monitors legislation at all levels for the purpose of protecting the interest of economic liberty and complete market freedom.
